(Cambodia， 21st April) A tragic incident has rocked the community of Bavet, Svay Rieng Province, after a 24-year-old female local casino employee was found decapitated in her rented house on April 21. The victim, who was born in the province of Kandal and worked at the Dynasty Casino, was discovered on a bed in the rental house, while her head was found discarded next to the toilet.
Local police were alerted to the scene by a report received at around 12:40 a.m. on April 20. The authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to bring the perpetrator to justice.
According to Cambodian media reports, the police arrested a 41-year-old man named Liao Guanghua on the evening of April 20 in Khaet Preah Vihear, after he fled from the scene of the crime. Mr. Liao had a relationship with the deceased and is suspected of being involved in her murder.
Mr. Liao was found in an inn in Preah Vihear Province, where he attempted suicide by drinking poison. Fortunately, the owner of the inn discovered him in time and called the police, who took him to the hospital for treatment.
The victim’s family members stated that they had discovered Mr. Liao’s bad behavior and had warned the victim not to associate with him. They were shocked to learn of the brutal murder.
The local community is in shock and mourning the loss of the victim. The authorities have promised to do everything in their power to bring the perpetrator to justice and provide closure to the victim’s family and friends.
