(Singapore, 20th April) Singapore’s well-known “fish seller” and internet celebrity, Wang Lei, has denied allegations of gambling addiction and owing gambling debts. In a recent live broadcast, Wang Lei explained that the accusations made against him were false and that he had not gambled but instead took his family and friends to a local casino in Belgium for some fun.
Wang Lei further stated that the accusations of him owing 5,000 euros in gambling debts were not true, and the amount was deducted from his salary. He also accused his former partner, known as “Joe,” of gambling more aggressively at the casino. Wang Lei claimed that he only wanted his children to have some fun, and he did not do anything wrong.
During the live broadcast, Wang Lei also revealed that his relationship with Singaporean director Liang Zhiqiang had broken down due to the constant interference of “Joe,” who continued to speak ill of Liang Zhiqiang in front of him.
Wang Lei has gained fame in Singapore through his social media presence, and he also appeared in a recent film produced by Liang Zhiqiang. “Joe,” his former partner, helped him start a live broadcast earlier, but the two have since parted ways.
The accusations made against Wang Lei have caused controversy online, and some netizens have criticized “Joe” for making false allegations. However, some people have also expressed concern about the potential negative influence that gambling can have, and urged public figures to set a good example for their followers.
